Unexpectedly Up And Getting A Classic Ford Mustang
So I haven’t been able to post on this blog nearly as much as I’d planned, because of the fact that I’ve been helping Dad manage his wet & wild midlife crisis. Well, you might think it’s not as far gone as it might be. Basically what he did was to get himself dressed up like fonzie, and come on over to my place and tell me, in his jazziest possible vocal tone: “Put some shades on, son, we’re going out cruising for some classic Mustang sales. No joke, my boy, I’m finally going to do this thing.”
Next thing I know my Dad and I were hopping around to a few of those wild vintage car showrooms that you’re pretty much certain are owned by the mob, and I see my crazy padre wrote a check right there on the spot, for an alarmingly sparkly classic Ford Mustang. It’s an intense machine. It sounded great as well.
There’s a reason why I said that last sentence in the past tense. It sounded really nice right until it totally broke down. The old man says that it is just a easy thing to fix and that all it will take is the right part. Only thing is, it may not be as easy to get your hands on classic Mustang parts as it was over 30 years ago, but Dad informs me there is a pretty good-sized aftermarket for them regardless. the the easiest way to find parts for 1965 Mustangs is via online auctions, because you can get them all refurbished and occasionally even brand new. They’re only sometimes cheap, though… After all, these are half-century old Ford Mustang parts.
Not as bad as some midlife crises, I suppose. He might’ve gone and found a toupee.
