Dams Maestro series of office furniture
The Maestro series of office furniture manufactured by Dams International is one of the most popular ranges of business furniture ever produced. The success of Maestro office furniture is based upon a winning formula of Maestro offering excellent value for money, Maestro products are very dureable and functional, and Maestro offers many modular furniture products. Maestro is the ideal product range for both cost conscious businesses or the home office furniture user.
Maestro desks come in just three basic designs (L shaped, wave and rectangular desks) each in a choice of sizes and a choice of leg designs between wooden panel end and a grey painted steel cantilever design. In past years Maestro products have been sold in several different MFC woodgrain effect finishes. The 2008 range has been rationalised down to a choice of beech or oak woodgrain finish, though cherry and light grey products have only recently been discontinued and in some cases residual stocks might possibly be available.
If there is any drawback to using Maestro office furniture, it is that it is manufactured from 18mm MFC wood effect board which could be deemed to be slightly too cheap when impression counts with external visitors, though it’s hard wearing strength and durability should not be doubted despite its budget appearance. The business office furniture market has swung firmly in favour of 25mm furniture ranges in recent years which generally looks a lot better quality. A good compromise as an upgrade path from Maestro furniture is the Maestro 25 furniture range (often known as M25 furniture).
Maestro 25 desking is generally around 10% to 15% dearer than Maestro desking, but they appear a far superior quality and give a better impression. The two ranges can be installed in the same office and will not stick out like a sore thumb. A key factor to note is that M25 desking products only come in standard metric sizes (800mm deep and metric widths like 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm etc.) whereas Maestro desks comes in unusual depths and widths (746mm deep and widths like 1228mm, 1532mm, 1778mm etc.) The range mismatch is only a problem if you intend to fit a Maestro 25 desk adjacent to a cluster of original Maestro desks.
