How to get more traffic using Twitter For Business

Web 2.0 property Twitter has created quite a buzz recently with a plethora of subject gurus discussing Twitter on their podcasts , and marketing experts saying that you can use Twitter to hundreds of fans , the talk about Twitter is hard to avoid . You probably have friends and work colleagues on Twitter and you’ve most likely had Twitter invites from your leading suppliers . That brings us neatly to my point . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?

Twitter doesn’t look like it will disappear any time soon. In the meantime some are jumping on the band wagon, while others sit in the sidelines bemused.

Despite what you think of Twitter for yourself, there are opportunities you should deploy and there’s a great FREE training video about that at http://www.TrafficHug.com/twittervideo/ but whatever you do, you should be doing something. The smallest benefit will be extra chances for impressions , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. I mean a few people are just going to wonder if your business (or you) are on Twitter and type in twitter dot com slash acme widgets. Now it will be embarrassing is a cyber squatter is sitting on your own name, so another good reason to make sure you secure your place in the Twit’o’sphere. (By the way things can be done about cyber squatters, just ask me.)

In other articles we talk about how to get noticed for your keyword and how to manage your account for targeted conversion (also covered well in that free video I mentioned earlier) but let’s do something we can do right now.

Most people think of Twitter traffic as an internal channel of Twitter itself . A concept most Twitter directories encourage . But , the advantages of having your regular traffic join you on Twitter are plentiful . So enormous that we need to do something about it now .

One thing we can do almost immediately is to add a Twitter “badge” to your existing web entities . It’s simply a graphic stating who you are on Twitter with a hyperlink to your Twitter profile. In the videos I mentioned , there’s more advanced material , but let’s stick to a simple badge for now .

WHERE CAN I CREATE MY BADGE ?
You can get your own customised Twitter badge for FREE from the following website ;
http://www.TwitterDominator.com/followme_badges.php - Free Twitter badge .

You simply paste the HTML code it provides in to your website, store, or blog and your customised graphic with active link, will magically appear .

It works great on Wordpress blogs as a sidebar Text Widget. I’ve put one on all of my own blogs.

The Badge is provided in its own little HTML DIV tag so should integrate perfectly almost anywhere.

If you create a table or div tag to position it in , then you can just paste the code in in that place . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.

There couldn’t be anything easier than using a Twitter badge. And it’s the glue that links your web 2.0 with your normal web. Don’t miss the boat.
