Credit Repair Business - How to Get Started
The credit repair business will remain profitable regardless of the state of the economy. The current recession we’re going through is a good example - while many other businesses have been struggling, the credit repair business has been more successful than ever. Credit is interwoven into the very fabric of our society.
In the USA, more than 78 percent of people have problems with money management, which directly impacts their credit score and report. Should it surprise anyone that the credit repair business is one of the top choices for home business enthusiasts?
There are more advantages to this business other than being always in demand for repairing bad credit. Investment is minimal, it rewards one with personal satisfaction, it’s an outstanding means to make money and word-of-mouth recommendation is often all that is needed in the way of marketing.
All right then, moving ahead!
Step 1
Starting out, you’ll need to have your client procure copies of his credit reports (one from each of the major credit bureaus). Use any of these methods: Visit AnnualCreditReport dot com or call 877-322-8228. Another way is to Google “free credit report.” Don’t be surprised when you have thousands of results to choose from.
This is critical to do, since as many as a whopping 90 percent of credit reports have errors. These errors are the reason, in many cases, that people cannot get credit. As a credit repair business you will begin helping your client by correcting wrong information on his credit report.
Step 2
Go through the documents very carefully and identify all the information that is entered wrongly. First look carefully for signs of possible identity theft; this could be any accounts that may not be your clients, particularly loans that have been unpaid. Many such thefts are done with moderate amounts over long periods so as not to raise suspicion. While the thieves make money, the victim is left with negative entries and a bad credit score.
Step 3
Send dispute letters for the mistakes identified. If you find anything that points to identity theft, contact the police right away; it will also absolve your client from responsibility to a certain extent.
You will profit in your business in proportion to your success in dealing with the credit bureaus on behalf of your client. Most people hire a credit repair business for their troubles because they have no time nor inclination to learn how it’s done. For that reason, if you expect to thrive in this business the interest of your clients must always be your first priority. Failure to do so is likely to result in the failure of your business.
Step 4
Locate a state-of-the-art credit repair software to streamline your work and save you time. The more efficiently you work, the more time you will have for additional clients. However, do not rely on your software alone; no machine is a substitute for human judgment.
Step 5
Promote your credit repair business actively both online and offline. Distribute fliers, and offer quality freebies that introduce your business to potential clients - such as free counseling, free consultations, free credit report assessment, lotteries, quality information and resources, and so on. Just always keep uppermost in your mind that your client’s interests is your first priority. Do this, and making money in your business will not seem all that difficult.
Always start with someone close - relatives or friends - and do an exceptional job! You will be rewarded for your good work by floods of clients obtain through “word-of-mouth marketing” and you will have an unending chain of leads. To kick start your credit repair business offer a discount for a limited time; and make sure your to give your best effort, so those that take you up on your offer will send you more business through referrals.
Some important points: The best way to make money is by ensuring that your client is happy. The money will follow. And finally, do not charge unaffordable fees, make promises on which you cannot deliver, or do anything illegal, however tempting and profitable that may seem to be.
