Preparing for Goose Hunting In Minnesota

Goose hunting is incredibly popular in North America. In fact, it is the fastest growing sport in Minnesota, according to the Department of Natural Resources. To increase hunters’ effectiveness in shooting and so decrease the number of crippled birds, the DNR has started to hold seminars to teach goose hunting skills.

What the seminars focus on is teaching the hunters about proper equipment and how to use it. This includes how to select a shotgun and the correct shot size for dealing with geese, which are pretty big birds.  Apparently many novice goose hunters are poorly trained and so tend to aim at birds that are too far away while using shot that is undersized.

Another issue facing goose hunting novices in Minnesota is finding good hunting locations.  The DNR suggests doing some research about goose behavior and habitat before going in search of hunting grounds. This study will provide some guidelines in what to look for.

There is water virtually everywhere in Minnesota and an abundance of crop lands, so the geese can be found all over the state, however the geese are known to be more plentiful in the southern and western regions. The conservation offices in various regions throughout the state are a good resource when looking for good hunting land.

The next step is to actually scout out the potential hunting grounds. If the good spots are on private land, asking permission of the land owner is imperative. If they’ve had good experiences with the hunters in the past, they’ll often heartily agree to allow access to the land.

Public land is another option to explore for goose hunting land. The Minnesota DNR provides maps precisely with this information laid out. So while goose hunting is growing in popularity, it appears clear the state is eager to assist to ensure success.

Natural Health Solutions From Home

A lot of us depend on prescription and over-the-counter medicines so much these days that sometimes, we ignore the fact that there are far less-expensive and safer natural health solutions we can find in our homes. For instance, a lot of herbal plants can be a natural sleeping aid. California poppy, chamomile, catnip, hops, jamaica dogwood, jasmine, lavender, passion flower, peppermint, sage, Siberian ginseng, St. John’s wort and valerian are some examples of herbal remedies that are homeopathic sleep aid alternatives that haven’t gone through extensive clinical testing. While valerian has been clinically proven to correct sleep disorders, most of the other herbs for treating sleeplessness are traditional home remedies that haven’t been scientifically proven to improve sleep problems but most of them have minimal, if any, side effects making them a safe natural sleep aid remedy. Although most herbs for sleeping are harmless, some herbs should be taken with caution particularly hops, St. John’s wort and valerian.

Colon cleansing is a beneficial option when you want to eliminate toxins from your body and choosing a natural colon cleanser with all-natural ingredients like herbs is probably the safest way to go. A common natural recipe for colon cleansing includes sultana raisins, herb senna and rose hip extract. Some local herbs such as aloe can eliminate the colon’s toxins by stimulating bowel movements. Herbs used for colon cleansing usually contain a bitter plant which promotes bile flow to the liver. More importantly, it is also vital to drink plenty of water every day to keep your colon healthy.

Most women undergoing perimenopause usually employ hormone replacement therapy as a direct approach to alleviate harsh symptoms of menopause. However, alternative remedies which tend to strengthen and support the endocrine system work in conjunction with a healthy diet and adequate exercise and although they are slower in effect, natural remedies are still safe and effective for relieving menopausal symptoms such as a hot flash and night sweats. Herbs commonly used to alleviate hot flashes include ginseng, black cohosh, vitex agnus castii, blue cohosh, dong quai, and wild yam root. Chickweed tincture once or twice a day reduces the severity and frequency of hot flashes. Topical natural progesterone cream, which is popular among menopausal women today, is a transdermal cream that effectively relieves hot flashes. It is non-toxic and without the side effects of synthetic progestins since it is absorbed through the skin and carried directly to where it is needed.

Physician Job Search FAQ

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my physician employment contract?

A: In general, yes. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We have reviewed many contracts and can provide you with feedback as to what we have seen as standard. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.

Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?

A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” physician jobs are taken by the end of winter. We assist physicians throughout the year because contract expirations occur throughout the year. Don’t worry. Have confidence that the right position will be available. Call us, we are here to help!

Q: Who handles negotiations, me or my recruiter?

A: Whenever possible, your recruiter should handle negotiations for physician practice opportunities. Having a liaison reduces the potential for heated arguments between two parties. Keep in mind, professional recruiters regularly perform this task.

Personal Confidence Training

Summary of main points.

Confidence is a natural state which, if it’s lacking, requires you to build it up. When you have true confidence you don’t think about it, you don’t feel it, you just get on and do what you want to do.

Confidence is about being comfortable with who you are and having the skills, knowledge and habits to do what you want. It’s about being satisfied with where you are in your life’s journey right now. On this journey you can expect to learn more, change your priorities and acquire different passions and aspirations. If you’re not changing you’re just standing still. If you’re focusing only on the destination rather than the journey, then you’re introducing tension.

Whatever it is you choose to do that’s important to you requires a certain amount of knowledge, skills and habits. When you have those then you can do those important things. When you don’t have them you’ll struggle or worse, won’t even try doing even those things.

Since confidence is a natural state of being, it’s only when you have a lack of confidence that it becomes an issue.

The gap is the difference in your mind between where you think you are right now and where you think you should be. Both are made up by you, and the bigger the gap the more stressed you’ll tend to feel. Tension and stress most certainly undermine confidence.

We all have a false idea of where we currently are, but you can change both where you want to go and how you perceive things right now. Learning to be mindful about your daily life will get you more rooted in the here and now. Rather than slowing you down it allows you to remove distractions, allowing you to focus more of your energy on living the life you have. And the amazing things - that boosts your confidence.

If this summary identifies what you’d like to know more about how to build confidence, then please go to the Confidence Blog.

Compellent, NetApp, HP, Dell top the field in 12-product test

Those are the three conclusions we came to after an intense round of testing 12 iSCSI storage-area network (SAN) servers.

SANs, previously the exclusive domain of the largest data centers in the world, have been thrust into the realm of possibility for most enterprise and even some midsize organizations because of the incredible popularity of virtualization. Rather than trying to match present and future CPU, memory and storage needs with a single indivisible box, virtualization lets the data center manager throw lots of resources onto a network, and then slice off as small or as large a chunk as is needed to meet the needs of each application.

SANs, such as the dozen driven by the iSCSI SAN servers we looked at in this test, are one of the many moving parts of this virtualization-focused environment.

While iSCSI SAN servers look astonishingly similar on the outside, we found that there were some substantial differences in the products tested from Celeros, Compellent, Dell (formerly Equallogic), D-Link, FalconStor, HP, Kano Technologies, LeftHand Networks, NetApp, Nexsan, Reldata and Stonefly.

Although performance is an easy differentiator between products with stats ranging from 80Mbps up to 2447Mbps, we found more significant differences in enterprise features such as security, snapshot capabilities, and replication/backup services; hardware design issues such as high availability, expansion parameters, flexibility and load sharing; and, finally, manageability.

Products from NetApp, HP, Compellent and Dell led the results of our tests over and over. LeftHand Networks, StoneFly and FalconStor all had some very high points in our testing, but all also fell way down in their overall management capabilities. We consistently found room for improvement in D-Link, Nexsan, Celeros, and Kano Technologies.

In an attempt to make the results of this test as navigable as possible, we’ve divided them into six stories based on the area of testing. These topical stories give a deep dive into how the products standup and fall down in the areas of interoperability and compatibility; data protection; power consumption; enterprise features; management and performance.

Back to university Laptop Insurance - Get it Right

Computer and Laptop usage has now reached record levels, with more and more classrooms being equipped with more and more computer equipment, rapidly replacing A4 paper and text books, indeed, some Schools now even require every student to own a laptop computer.

In these Schools, much of the so called old fashion written work are replaced with the student typing work directly into their laptops. This can have many advantages, but where an advantage appears, a negative situation will be present. Can you imagine a high School with, let’s say 2000 pupels and just for an example, lets say each student|pupel|scholar} has a laptop or notebook valued at £500. So now we have 2000 young students looking after over a million pounds worth of laptop and Notebook equipment!

This may well prove very costly for parents! Especially when you stop and think that every student will be carrying the laptop both to and from School. Just imagine the volumes of loss, theft and Accidental Damage that is going to take place. This could start to get very dear for the parents of the forgetful and careless children of the class.

You can start to imagine some of the storys children will come up with for the reason they have not brought their laptops into School, or indeed, returned home with at the end of the day!

Imagine how children could fail to look after their Notebooks! Swinging the laptop bag around in the air before throwing it 5 metres at their best friend, dropping it down a flight of stairs in the hope it will fail so they have the perfect excuse not to had the home work in on time - I would love to see some of the reasons for claiming accidental damage on peoples Laptop Insurance claim forms!

Now if we move onto loss, can you imagine, over the space of a year how many students loose their Notebooks, left on the train or School bus because their minds were focused on the last text message or new ipod download.

Yet another vital component about loss is not to get it confused with Theft, as they are two totally different factors, especially when it comes down to Laptop Insurance Cover and illegal insurance fraud!

Many people automatically assume that because they have purchased Laptop Insurance Cover they will be covered for loss, only to find when making a claim that loss was not included in the policy. Whilst some people find this out too late, others are aware they are not covered for loss, so they report the laptop as stolen so they can claim on their Laptop Insurance under the theft cover, this practise can then become illegal Insurance fraud, so its always good practice to check the terms and conditions of any insurance policy to make sure you will be covered for the loss of your laptop computer to protect yourself from this situation.

It would be the same rule with Laptop Insurance as well as the same sort of cover you get on say an iPhone Insurance policy, so it really is important as advised above to read the terms and conditions of any prospective insurance policy before you purchase, so to avoid any potential law breaking situation with your insurance company or indeed the Police!

Can “non-commercial” keywords be successful?

If you read a lot of SEO publications or blogs you often read that it is important to choose high paying adsense keyword to build sites around it and to concentrate on topics with a commercial background in order to be able to make affiliate sales and get rich quickly.

Now, is getting rich quickly all that the web is about? Or is the web not much more - a mirror of the real life? I think it is essential, that from time to time we do something “noncommercial” on the web, too.

Let me give you an example:I run a site that sells bookmarks (Lesezeichenladen.de) and in order to attract visitors I added a step-to-step guide on how to make a nice selfmade bookmark with blossoms.

when I checked the stats after a few months I noticed that I got quite a lot of hits from people who were searching for handicraft guides with blossoms in german language. Keywords like Blumen basteln and Blueten basteln suddenly appeared on my search statistics for the site.

And although this is quite off topic for my page I started to create more guides for handicrafts - just for fun. I enjoyed doing that myself - as it did not have anything to do with computers or with business - only with fun. We should not forget that part of our lives - at least from time to time…

Haggis our national Scottish food dish.

Haggis is the traditional Scottish meal but not the most popular in fact many Scots turn their nose at idea of eating it.

It is said and I believe it that most people would not have even heard of the Haggis if it had not been for our national poet Robert Burns. He referred to it as the Chieftain of the Pudding Race in his poem “Address To The Haggis. We give the full version of the “Address To the Haggis” poem on ScottishJerk.com. The same section of the website includes a template menu for those looking to organise their own Burns Night supper. The template also has the Scottish Grace or Selkirk Grace along with the order of toasts and responses that should be included.

The haggis can also be eaten as a Haggis Supper at local take-away shops. This is simply deep fried haggis with chipped potatoes (French fries outside of Scotland). However this does not tell us what is the secret recipe that makes Haggis so special.

Ask a Scot and they will tell you a Haggis is a small animal with its two left legs shorter than the right legs. Females have the short leg on the right so you tell them apart easier! Darwin explained this under the survival of the fittest theory by pointing out that this difference in leg length allowed them to run in circles around steep Scottish highland hills. Some travel agents will still try to sell tourists tickets for haggis hunting tours and then take them to the local butchers shop.

But joking apart this food is traditionally made up of mainly the cheapest parts of a sheep so it was always particularly popular amongst the poorer people of the land. The main ingredients tend to be oats and several different meats usually mutton, offal (i.e. heart, liver and lungs) all minced (or ground) along with onion and suet all heavily spiced according to different traditions. This mix is then mixed with stock before being stuffed inside a sheep’s stomach then boiled and served.

Today you will also find the sheep’s stomach has been replaced with an artificial cellulose casing and several vegetarian versions of the haggis are being made available in supermarkets.

In many countries it will not be possible to get a truly traditional haggis e.g. the USA where the lung of animals has been ruled to be unfit for human consumption. We have covered the haggis in more detail including its role in Burns Night celebrations on our Scottish culture website http://ScottishJerk.com

Chevrolet corvette cars auto auction

I was looking at the Chevrolet Corvette cars that have sold recently on eBay Motors auto auction .There were 2547 Corvette cars that came up in my search of completed items, but a lot of them closed without a bidder.

The oldest of the Corvettes that was posted in the corvette section cars for sale by owner that sold recently was a 1954 project car kit that sold for $6100. The seller was in Austin, Texas and listed the car has having 9,999 miles. The pictures I looked at made the car look like a pile of junk and that the term car was used very loosely.

Old Corvette car bodies are usually purchased by someone that has a lot of time and money to spend fixing up cars. These types of cars are bought as more of a hobby than for transportation. The kind of buyer that purchased this item would probably never buy new Corvette cars.

I sorted the recently closed Corvette cars at the online auto auction by putting the highest priced ones first and found that the top seven closed without a buyer. The prices of the Corvette cars without a bidder ranged from $78,000 to $120,000. The highest priced Corvette with a bidder sold for $77,900.

The $77,900 Corvette car was sold by an individual with a feedback rating of two in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Corvette cars like this Corvette Z06 range in price from $26,000 to $75,000. Used Corvette cars can really be very expensive.

Corvette cars have been in production since 1953. They have two body styles that both have only two doors. The two body styles for Corvette cars are the coupe and the convertible. The manufacturer of Corvette cars is General Motors.

If you are a big fan of Corvette cars, there is a National Corvette Museum in Boling Green, Kentucky. This museum is a showcase for the Corvette. The museum currently has an anniversary celebration going on that will last another week. Go visit if you have the time.
